However, this does not make the 'Mech a "Totem 'Mech". ![]() Many 'Mechs are named after their Clan, such as the Nova Cat. Those units, designed for brutal efficiency on the battlefield and quick production, lack all the special moldings, formed armor, and other design details used in the Totem 'Mechs. One example of the increased importance of the Totem 'Mech can be seen when these units are compared to the OmniMechs that regularly appeared in the Clan's front line Clusters. These "frills" are often anthropomorphic or zoomorphic in appearance. More common among the Clans, particularly after Operation REVIVAL and in the later days of the Dark Age, these BattleMech designs typically devote more resources to aesthetic "frills". You can activate said Spirit Totems from the Totem Pouch, once a day. Spirit Totems are special Totems, unlocked at Era 3, that boost other parts of the game. ![]() There are two types of Fighting Totems: Offense and Defense types you can only equip three of each type. You are guaranteed to find new Totems (if possible), at certain intervals, to avoid really bad luck. ![]() If you'd normally receive a copy of a level 4 Totem (whether Fighting or Spirit), it'd instead be turned into 250 Runic Essence. You can't get extra copies of a level 4 totem (so, you'd always get copies of other totems that aren't at the max level, in that case). Leveling up a Fighting Totem reduces its cooldown between appearances by 1 minute, with a base appearance rate of 6 minutes.
